NEW DELHI, May 10: In a special briefing on Operation Sindoor, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday provided details of the Indian Armed Forces’ targeted response to escalating actions by Pakistan. Indian forces carried out precision strikes on Pakistani military targets, including technical infrastructure, command and control centres, radar sites, and weapon storage areas, in retaliation for Islamabad’s provocative actions. Locations such as Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, and Rahimyar Khan were targeted using air-launched weapons from Indian fighter aircraft.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh elaborated on the actions taken by the Armed Forces, revealing that Pakistan’s military has been observed moving troops to forward areas, suggesting an offensive intent to further escalate the situation. She confirmed that the Indian Armed Forces remain in a high state of operational readiness, effectively countering all hostile actions. Singh noted that radar sites in Pasur and the Sialkot aviation base were also targeted, with the strikes focused solely on identified military targets in response to Pakistan’s actions.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi provided additional details on Pakistan’s continued provocations, including the use of drones, long-range weapons, loitering munitions, and fighter jets against the western borders. Pakistan’s military attempted to infiltrate airspace at more than 26 locations, from Srinagar to Chhaliya, causing damage to Indian equipment and personnel at air force bases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot, and Bathinda. Qureshi also reported high-speed missile strikes by Pakistan on airbases in Punjab the previous night, along with attacks on civilian infrastructure, including health facilities and schools in Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur. She reiterated India’s commitment to non-escalation, provided Pakistan reciprocates.

Wing Commander Singh also addressed Pakistan’s misinformation campaign, which falsely claimed that they destroyed India’s S-400 missile defense system and targeted airfields in Suratgarh and Sirsa. Singh rejected these claims and presented time-stamped images to demonstrate that Indian airbases remained unharmed. Pakistan had previously claimed that their weapons systems targeted these airfields, but the evidence contradicted these assertions.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri condemned Pakistan’s provocative actions and emphasized that India’s response was measured. He highlighted Pakistan’s continued targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Misri also dismissed Pakistan’s baseless allegations that Indian missiles had struck religious sites or Afghanistan. He pointed out that Afghan people are fully aware of which country had targeted their civilians and infrastructure. Misri also rejected claims that India fired missiles towards Shri Amritsar Sahib, asserting that these attempts to divide India would fail.

India’s response to the escalating situation has focused on precision strikes against military targets while strongly rejecting Pakistan’s false narratives and emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
