AIZAWL, Nov 27: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced on Tuesday that his government will be taking action to remove non-performing employees from the state service, including those deemed unfit for continued employment. Speaking during a review meeting of the Education Department in Aizawl, Lalduhoma explained that committees are being formed within various departments to assess the performance of government employees.
“We feel that it is better we relieve or allow all unqualified employees, who are no longer worth to be employed, to exit from their services as per norms. We are committed to having efficient employees, who maintain good quality of services,” the chief minister said.
Lalduhoma also emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that all development projects in the state are executed properly and effectively. He highlighted the role of the state project monitoring committee, which has already inspected around 40 ongoing projects, and stated that there will be increased scrutiny in the execution and monitoring of projects going forward.
Furthermore, the chief minister discussed the government’s new approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Previously, CSR funds were managed individually by departments, but now the government has decided to centralize CSR oversight under the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). As part of this move, all departments will need to coordinate with a dedicated CSR cell to access and manage these funds.
