Agartala, Sept 30: In a horrific incident in the Khamarbari area of West Tripura district, a 62-year-old woman was reportedly tied to a tree and burned alive by her two sons. The alleged murder is believed to stem from a family dispute and occurred late Saturday night.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the woman’s charred body still attached to the tree. She had been living with her two sons after her husband passed away about a year and a half ago, while a third son lived in Agartala.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer Kamal Krishna Koloi confirmed that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Both sons suspected of this gruesome act have been apprehended and are currently being interrogated.
