KOHIMA, March 25: In a unified effort to advance the collective political aspirations of the Naga people, the Naga tribe bodies, Naga Political Groups (NPGs), and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) convened on March 24, 2025.
According to a press release, the meeting was convened “in a spirit of unity and determination” to advance “the collective political aspirations of the Naga people.”
Key resolutions were adopted during the gathering, primarily focusing on strengthening the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship (CNCR). As per the agreement signed by the NPGs on January 14, 2025, the Naga tribe bodies will formally join the CNCR as official participants, starting from the next scheduled meeting.
Another critical resolution fixed the next meeting of Naga cultural tribe bodies, NPGs, and the FNR for Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The Naga tribe bodies have earnestly urged the highest leadership of the NPGs to attend this crucial gathering. Given the CNCR’s significance, full cooperation from all parties is deemed essential for the success of their shared political cause.
The FNR further appealed to all Nagas to offer prayers and unwavering support for the movement.
Among those present at the meeting, besides members of the FNR and NPGs, were representatives from several apex Naga organizations, including Ao Senden, Angami Public Organisation, Chakhesang Public Organisation, Lotha Hoho, Sumi Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Pochury Hoho, Tangkhul Union, United Naga Council, Mao Council, Tangkhul Naga Hoho, and Zeliang People’s Organisation Dimapur.
