IMPHAL, March 13: In a significant move amidst ongoing President’s Rule in Manipur, six Naga Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) met with the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal. The meeting took place against the backdrop of the suspension of the Manipur Legislative Assembly and political uncertainty in the state.
The MLAs—Awangbow Newmai, Khashim Vashum, Losii Dikho, Leishiyo Keishing, J. Kumo Sha, and Janghemlung Panmei—raised a variety of pressing issues faced by the common people of the state. During their meeting, the legislators expressed their strong commitment to supporting peace and stability in Manipur, despite the suspension of the Assembly and the prevailing political turmoil under President’s Rule.
The MLAs assured Governor Bhalla of their full cooperation in all steps aimed at restoring normalcy in the state. They conveyed their confidence in the Governor’s leadership and optimism that Manipur would soon overcome the ongoing crisis. The legislators expressed hope that, despite the political challenges, the state would regain stability and peace in the near future.
