KOHIMA, May 16: A nine-member delegation from Nagaland, led by G Ikuto Zhimomi, Advisor of the Land Resources Department, participated in the COFFEX Istanbul Expo 2025 held from May 9 to 11 in Istanbul, Turkey. The delegation included senior officials Kevekha Kevin Zehol, former Commissioner & Secretary of Land Resources, Additional Director Hekato N, and five coffee entrepreneurs representing Nagaland Coffee, Été Coffee, Juro Coffee, YES Coffee, and Coffee Lady.
The Consulate General of India in Istanbul, Mijito Vinito Chishi, played a pivotal role in facilitating the delegation’s presence by coordinating with the Coffee Board of India and the Government of Turkey.
COFFEX Istanbul Expo is a leading international trade fair dedicated to coffee and related industries in the Middle East. It attracts coffee professionals and enthusiasts from across the globe, providing a platform to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and explore market opportunities.
The Nagaland delegation aimed to broaden their understanding of coffee cultivation, processing, and marketing, while gaining insights into global industry trends and establishing market linkages. During the three-day event, they engaged in cupping sessions and workshops, interacting with international stakeholders across the coffee value chain.
This exposure proved invaluable, offering insights into diverse processing techniques, flavor profiling, market dynamics, pricing strategies, cutting-edge technologies, and sustainable practices. The event also opened opportunities for collaboration with international buyers and roasters, particularly from Turkey, thereby strengthening the global presence of Nagaland’s growing coffee industry.
