KOHIMA, Nov 26: In a major push to elevate tourism ahead of the Hornbill Festival 2025, Nagaland has officially launched a new helicopter aerial experience service, offering panoramic views of some of the state’s most iconic landscapes.
The service was flagged off at the Lerie Helipad in Kohima by Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along, accompanied by senior officials and representatives of Thumby Aviation Private Limited, which will operate the rides in partnership with the Nagaland Tourism Department.
Designed to enhance both accessibility and adventure tourism, the helicopter service will provide tourists with scenic aerial tours of Kohima, the world-famous Dzükou Valley, and the vibrant grounds of the Hornbill Festival.
The rides will operate from Dimapur Airport, Kohima Heliport, and Kigwema Heliport, ensuring wider connectivity for visitors. Authorities have also introduced subsidized fare options to encourage higher participation from domestic and international travelers.
