IMPHAL, Dec 3: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Guwahati Zonal Unit, has dismantled a Myanmar–Manipur–Assam drug trafficking network, seizing over six kilograms of heroin worth ₹12.5 crore, an official statement informed.

Acting on specific intelligence, NCB teams tracked the consignment as it moved through forest routes in Manipur and was ferried by motorboat along the Barak River to evade checks. The boat was intercepted near Silchar on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of two individuals.
Officials recovered 530 soap cases packed with high-grade heroin, hidden beneath bamboo layers. The operation was conducted with support from the CRPF and Silchar Police.
