SENAPATI, Feb 7: The newly appointed executives of the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) assumed office on January 31 at the Association’s secretariat in Senapati district.
The newly appointed office bearers are President Th Anteshang (Maring), General Secretary Isaac Charenamei (Liangmai), Vice President Bosco Kashung (Maram), Assistant General Secretary Singson (Thangal), Education Secretary Joyful (Anal), Games & Sports Secretary Longmei Rex Chujaenthaipou (Rongmei), Social & Cultural Secretary Zebulun (Chothe), Finance Fecretary Jessy Inpui (Inpui), Information & Publicity Secretary Sochuingam (Tangkhul), Assembly Affairs Speaker Andria (Anal), Deputy Speaker Karang Paul (Maram), and Deputy Secretary TP Dining (Rongmei).

In a solidarity message, Naga Women’s Union president Ch Priscilla Thiumai commended ANSAM for its proactive role in advocating for student welfare. She highlighted the critical role of youth as productive and responsible citizens, emphasizing their potential to drive meaningful change. She referred to the student body as the custodians of the Naga student community and encouraged the new leadership to aspire for greater achievements.
Outgoing president Luikang Luckson delivered an emotional farewell speech, expressing his deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the ANSAM president. He acknowledged the progress made during his tenure, despite the challenges and unfinished initiatives. He reflected on his vision for positive change and expressed confidence that the foundation laid by the outgoing team would be strengthened by the incoming leadership. Luckson urged the new team to pursue excellence, embrace innovation, and make a meaningful impact during their term.

Meanwhile, newly appointed president Th Angteshang Maring, in his address, committed to upholding the legacy and dedication of past ANSAM leaders. He assured that the new leadership would operate with integrity, sincerity, and a deep understanding of the Naga cause. He emphasized the importance of inclusive decision-making through thorough consultation and strategic approaches to address prevailing issues, including the Indo-Naga political situation, while remaining dedicated to student welfare and empowerment.
