Agartala, July 28: At least nine Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were injured, two of them seriously, in an alleged attack by supporters of the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) during a gathering to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme in Tripura’s Khowai district on Sunday.

The incident occurred at Taksapara village under Asharambari Assembly Constituency, where around 30 BJP members and supporters had assembled at a house to listen to the Prime Minister’s monthly radio address. According to police officials, a large group of TMP workers allegedly stormed the venue, assaulting attendees and vandalising property. Eight motorcycles and two cars belonging to BJP workers were damaged during the attack.
