SENAPATI, Oct 27: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), Senapati, has expressed full support for the Genna declaration issued by the United Naga Council (UNC) in honour of the Historic Civic Reception for Thuingaleng Muivah, Ato Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN (NSCN-IM).
In a notification issued on Monday, the NPO said the Genna will be strictly observed throughout Senapati district on October 29. As part of the observance, all government and private institutions, including banks, will remain closed. Business establishments, commercial activities including transport services have also been directed to suspend operations. Additionally, agricultural work and domestic chore, except essential kitchen cooking are to be put on hold for the day.
The organisation urged the people of Senapati district to uphold the spirit of unity and solidarity on this significant occasion. However, essential and emergency services such as medical aid, fire services, media, and power supply are exempted from the restrictions. Vehicle movement will remain restricted, except for those participating in the official programme.
