SENAPATI, Nov 5: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) has announced a temporary suspension of its earlier plan to halt all economic supplies to the Kuki-inhabited areas. The action, initially scheduled to begin at midnight on November 5, was intended as a protest against two reported incidents in Daili Village on October 29 and 30.
According to the NPO, the protest was triggered by the alleged desecration of a poster of Eno. Th. Muivah, the Hon’ble Ato Kilonser of the GPRN, and the detonation of a large firecracker that reportedly caused panic among the local residents.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the decision was made following an official appeal from the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, which has taken what the NPO described as “full responsibility” for the incidents.
The Kuki Inpi has also assured the NPO that the individuals involved will be apprehended within the stipulated ten-day period. Therefore, the NPO has temporarily suspended the proposed economic blockade for a period of ten (10) days.
