NSUI Pushes District Reforms in Senapati, Calls for Stronger Student Voice

SENAPATI, Nov 24: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) held a significant Organisational Reformation Meet at Maram Kavanam, bringing together both state and district executives to strengthen the student movement in Senapati. The delegation was led by NSUI Manipur State President Joyson Khoho, accompanied by State General Secretary (Administration) and Senapati–Kangpokpi in-charge B.M. Sohel, alongside state executives MD Sabir Ahmed, Arif Yumkhaibam, Ajayruddin, and Syed Aoulad.

They were joined by the NSUI Senapati district team including Vice-President Francis Ngouning, General Secretary Pairson Paul, Secretary Ranuba Robin, Social Media Chairman Awuhriini, Social Media Coordinator Seva Reveilee, and Coordinator Raina Diana.

The meeting focused on reorganising and strengthening the district unit. Addressing the gathering, State President Joyson Khoho highlighted the crucial role of NSUI in championing student and youth welfare, both politically and socially. He emphasised issues such as outdated syllabi, the widening mismatch in teacher–student ratios, and the need for better academic support systems. He reiterated that NSUI, as the world’s largest democratic student organisation, remains a powerful platform for shaping future national leaders.

Khoho also strongly criticised the recent school syllabus changes introduced by the BJP-led government, stating that the removal of important historical content on the Mughal Empire and various Muslim dynasties was a politically driven attempt to distort India’s rich and diverse heritage.

State General Secretary B.M. Sohel encouraged young people to actively participate in organisational initiatives, stressing that collective action is vital in voicing student concerns and pushing for meaningful change.

Representing the district unit, Francis Ngouning and Pairson Paul reaffirmed their commitment to uplift students in Senapati and strengthen the organisational structure. They shared their grievances, highlighted challenges affecting the unit’s growth, and offered constructive suggestions to the state delegation for better mobilisation of youths in the district.

The state executives assured full support and cooperation to the unit, emphasising their readiness to assist with all necessary resources and guidance.
