One-Day Career Guidance Workshop Held At Asufii Christian Institute, Punanamei

Senapati, October 11: A one-day Career Guidance Workshop was successfully held on 11th October 2025 at the Asufii Christian Institute Auditorium, Punanamei, jointly organised by the Mao Council, Mao Officers’ Union, Mao Naga Women Welfare Association (MNWWA), and the Mao Students’ Union (MSU).

The workshop was moderated by Ms. Kaini Lokho, Assistant Professor, Asufii Christian Institute, Punanamei. A total of 1035 students from 17 schools and institutions participated in the programme.

The programme began with an invocation prayer by Pastor Loli Chakre, followed by an introduction and presentation by the moderator. A traditional blessing was pronounced by Mr. Athikho Joseph, President, Mao Council.

Delivering the first talk on Career in Law, Mrs. Koshia Mao, Public Prosecutor and Government Advocate, Government of Manipur, encouraged students to take their studies seriously from the higher secondary level. She elaborated on the different branches of law—criminal, civil, and family law—and explained the roles of a judge, public prosecutor, and advocate. She reminded the students to do their best and trust in God for the rest.

Mr. A. Adahrii Maheo (MCS), CEO, ADC Senapati, in his address on Civil Services, stressed the importance of building a strong foundation, developing curiosity, maintaining good health, and cultivating a circle of positive friends. He emphasized that consistency and discipline are key to success in competitive exams.

Dr. Kajikho, MS Surgery and SMO (Medical), in his talk on Medical Careers, shared that aspiring medical professionals should possess reading qualities, good memory, and patience. He encouraged students to pursue the field with compassion and dedication.

After a special number and refreshments, Lt. Col. Maneo Francis, Shaurya Chakra, spoke on Careers in the Armed Forces. He motivated the youth to embrace challenges and opportunities in serving the nation. He reminded them that marks or percentages do not define a person’s worth and urged them to set clear and achievable goals.

A panel discussion followed on SSC, Engineering, Banking, and Other Careers, with Mr. Elow Eshena, Senior Geologist, Imphal, and Mr. Moses Basena, Manager, Punjab National Bank, Imphal, as resource persons. Both speakers provided valuable insights into their fields, sharing practical advice and motivating students to explore a wide range of career options.

A word of encouragement was delivered by Mr. Adani Loli, Retired Joint Registrar, High Court, who commended the organisers and urged the students to make the best use of the opportunities provided.

The programme concluded with remarks by Mr. Lohrii Nenuo Joseph (MFS), FA, ADC Senapati, and a benediction prayer by Mrs. Matia, Finance and Treasurer, Mao Naga Women Welfare Association.

The workshop proved to be informative and inspiring, equipping students with valuable knowledge and motivation to pursue their chosen careers with determination and purpose.
