SENAPATI, Nov 30:   The Paomata Naga Council (PNC) has formally inducted its new leadership team for the 2024-2027 term in a well-attended ceremony held at Serina Hotel, Senapati. This change of guard follows the successful elections held on 25th November 2024 at Tunggam Afii Village, marking a significant moment for the Paomata Naga community.

The newly elected President of the PNC is Mr. Ng Sounii, a respected leader from Phuba Village, who takes on the mantle of guiding the council through the next three years. His leadership was widely endorsed in social work in past years where community members expressed confidence in his ability to address the pressing needs of the Paomata Naga people. Mr. A Lohrii of Tunggam Village was elected Vice President, bringing with him a wealth of experience in community affairs.

The role of General Secretary is yet to be filled, with the council promising to announce the appointment in the coming days. However, the Assistant General Secretary position has already been filled by Mr. P Sotsii of Liyai Village. Sotsii is expected to play a crucial role in the council’s day-to-day operations, working closely with the President and other key members to implement the council’s programs.
Mr. K P Pulle from Maiba Village was appointed as Finance Secretary, tasked with overseeing the financial matters of the council. His experience in managing resources will be vital as the PNC plans its activities for the upcoming term. And Mr. D Th Rio, also from Maiba Village, was elected as the Speaker of the Assembly. As Speaker, Rio will have the responsibility of maintaining order during council meetings and ensuring that discussions and decisions are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
