New Delhi, August 5: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Parliamentary Party on Tuesday lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the valour of the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, attended by senior ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the NDA praised Operation Sindoor, a swift and powerful military retaliation to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, and Operation Mahadev, under which three key terrorists were eliminated. Both operations were launched in the wake of the brutal attack in Pahalgam by The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, which claimed 26 civilian lives, including those of a Nepali tourist and a local pony handler.

Two key resolutions were adopted at the meeting, highlighting both the success of the operations and the strategic reforms that enabled them. The NDA strongly supported naming the counter-terror action Operation Sindoor, symbolically linked to the vermilion worn by Indian women. “The coward terrorists removed sindoor from our women, while our Armed Forces, through Operation Sindoor, avenged their cruelty and protected crores of Indians,” the resolution noted.

The Parliamentary Party praised Prime Minister Modi’s “exceptional and exemplary leadership” and stated that India’s firm response reflected the strength and resolve of the nation under his stewardship. The government’s defence reforms, pursued over three terms, were credited with giving India a strategic edge and empowering the forces to launch integrated operations that neutralized threats and blunted any Pakistani military counter-offensive.

The NDA reaffirmed its unwavering support for India’s security forces and vowed to continue strengthening national defence through self-reliance (atmanirbharata) and bold policy decisions. The meeting concluded with a united call to stand behind the Armed Forces and the leadership that guided India’s robust response to cross-border terrorism.
