Guwahati, September 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day visit to Mizoram, Manipur, and Assam from September 13–14 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than ₹35,000 crore, with a strong focus on infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, and clean energy.
In Mizoram, Modi will inaugurate the ₹8,070 crore Bairabi–Sairang New Rail Line, connecting Aizawl to the Indian Railways network for the first time. He will also flag off three new express trains linking the state capital with Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati. Road projects, bridges, an LPG bottling plant, and a multipurpose indoor sports hall under Khelo India are also part of the ₹9,000 crore package for the state.
The Prime Minister will then travel to Churachandpur in Manipur to lay the foundation for projects worth over ₹7,300 crore, including a ₹3,600 crore urban roads and drainage project, five national highway projects, and the Manipur Infotech Development (MIND) Project. In Imphal, he will inaugurate the new Civil Secretariat, an IT SEZ, police headquarters, Manipur Bhawans in Delhi and Kolkata, and four new Ima Markets.
On September 13 evening, Modi will reach Guwahati to join the centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. The next day, he will launch projects worth ₹18,530 crore in Assam, including the Guwahati Ring Road, Darrang Medical College, and the Kuruwa–Narengi Bridge over the Brahmaputra. At Numaligarh, he will inaugurate Assam’s first Bioethanol Plant at NRL and lay the foundation for a Polypropylene Plant, aimed at boosting clean energy and petrochemical production.
