SENAPATI, May 4: The Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Maram (PNTMM) organized a cleanliness drive on Saturday in Senapati District under the theme “Your Action Matters, Cleanliness Starts With You” to raise awareness about the importance of hygiene and cleanliness. The main objective of the drive was to promote cleanliness across the entire district.
The drive saw the participation of 70 students along with local residents, who were divided into four groups comprising 15 to 17 members each. The groups were deployed across four key locations—DC Road, Rikhumai Taphou Highway, Senapati Old Road, and Senapati Astro Turf. Together, the participants collected 150 waste-filled plastic bags. Additionally, a truck provided by the Senapati Town Committee was fully loaded with waste materials, highlighting the scale of the drive.

The event was carried out in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati District, PNTM, SDSA, and the Senapati Town Committee. The PNTMM extended heartfelt gratitude to the PNTM Apex Body for their support and encouragement, and to the Deputy Commissioner for approving and supporting the initiative.
The PNTMM also appreciated SDSA for supplying gloves and masks to ensure safety during the drive and for their encouraging presence. Special thanks were given to the Town Committee for their logistical support in transporting the waste materials.
The cleanliness drive was hailed as a success, instilling a strong sense of civic responsibility among the participants. Organizers emphasized the importance of conducting such drives regularly to sustain the momentum and promote long-term cleanliness across the district.
