Agartala, September 8: Tripura royal scion and founder of the Tipra Motha Party, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, has called for a non-political protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on September 9, urging people from the Northeast—particularly the indigenous Tiprasa community—to join the demonstration.

In a video message released on Sunday, Pradyot clarified that the protest will not carry any political party’s flag or involve political speeches. Instead, it will be held under the Indian national flag to demand urgent implementation of the Tiprasa Accord and raise concerns over illegal migration into the state.

“Our demand is that the Government of India must think about the future of the indigenous people of Tripura,” Pradyot said. He added that despite several meetings with the Centre regarding the accord, no tangible progress has been made so far.

Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, Pradyot referred to Tripura youth David Murasing, who recently walked all the way from Tripura to Delhi to raise awareness and push for the same demands. “This is not just a political issue—this is about the existence and survival of our people,” he emphasized.

Pradyot urged participants to come together above party lines, stressing unity among all sections of the Tiprasa community. “This fight is not against any community. But if the government fails to act, I am ready to go to jail or even sacrifice my life,” he declared.
