IMPHAL, Dec 4: The All Manipur Recognized Private School Welfare Association has announced the introduction of Pre-Council Examinations for Class XII students beginning this year, aiming to boost confidence and readiness ahead of the 2026 Higher Secondary examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM).
Addressing reporters at the Manipur Press Club, Association President Laishram Joy Khuman said the organisation has been successfully conducting Pre-Board Examinations for Class X since 2005, a practice that has greatly benefited students appearing for their first major public exam. Building on this experience, the Association has extended the model to Class XII.
According to Khuman, 50 higher secondary schools have opted to participate, and nearly 5,000 students are expected to take part in the Pre-Council Examination, which will follow procedures similar to those of COHSEM. The exams will be held from December 9 to 22.
He appealed to civil society organisations, clubs, and local bodies to support the initiative by refraining from imposing bandhs or blockades that could disrupt the examinations, emphasising that uninterrupted academic schedules are crucial for students preparing for their board-level assessments.
