Imphal, Sept 19: The Dental College at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, has earned first place at the national level for its exceptional work on the Nanhi Muskan (Little Smile) initiative. This achievement was part of an outreach program organized by the Indian Society of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry.
The Nanhi Muskan project, which ran from July 16 to August 31, 2024, was spearheaded by the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry at RIMS. It focused on supporting underprivileged children by providing comprehensive healthcare services, including free dental check-ups and treatments, along with medical, paediatric, eye, and ENT services.

In addition to healthcare, the project provided free medicines, AYUSH health kits, stationery, and educational materials. It also hosted creative activities such as art and craft sessions, drawing classes, pottery workshops, and storytelling events to encourage the children’s development.
The award will be presented at the Annual National Conference’s opening ceremony in Bangalore on September 26, 2024. This recognition is a testament to the commitment of the RIMS Dental College team in improving the lives of disadvantaged children.
Congratulations to RIMS Dental College for winning such a prestigious award.
