SENAPATI, May 14: The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has appealed to all educational institutions in Senapati district to observe a holiday on May 16, 2025, in honor of Naga Plebiscite Day.
According to the directive, the SDSA acknowledged the directive issued by the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM), and reaffirmed the importance of the historic day. The association noted that Naga Plebiscite Day holds deep significance for the community, marking a pivotal moment in its history and identity.
“Recognizing this day as a holiday not only honors the memories of our past but also reinforces our commitment to the ongoing dialogue surrounding our future,” the SDSA stated.
The association urged all schools and colleges in the district to respect the directive and declare a holiday on May 16, 2025. It also encouraged students to organize meaningful events and activities that promote awareness and appreciation of Naga history and cultural heritage.
Describing the occasion as a reminder of the collective journey of the Naga people, the SDSA emphasized the importance of unity and community engagement while observing the day.
