Imphal, Oct 5: Combined team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles have recovered cache of arms and explosives during search operations in vulnerable hill and valley regions across Manipur.
During these operations, they recovered various weapons and ammunition from Khengmol Hill in Churachandpur district. The items seized included a tear gas gun, a country-made 9 mm pistol with a magazine, five single-barrel 12-bore guns, eight live rounds, thirteen improvised mortar shells, and five improvised heavy mortars.
In addition to the operations, security forces ensured the movement of essential goods, with 172 vehicles traveling along National Highway 37 and 169 along National Highway 2. Strict security measures were implemented in sensitive areas, with security convoys provided to protect vehicles.
A total of 110 Naka checkpoints were set up in various districts across the state, covering both hill and valley areas. No detentions were reported for violations during these checks.
