SENAPATI, March 31: The District Election Office, Senapati, has issued an official notice regarding the upcoming by-election preparedness meeting for the 49-Tadubi (ST) Assembly Constituency (AC). This election follows the unfortunate demise of N. Kayisii, the sitting MLA from the National People’s Party (NPP), who passed away on January 18, 2025.
In accordance with directives from the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, and the Election Commission of India, a crucial meeting has been called to discuss the rationalization and re-arrangement of polling stations for the by-election. The meeting will be held at 11:30 AM on April 1, 2025, at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Senapati.
The notice, issued by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley, IAS, calls upon all political parties operating in Senapati District, along with Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) of 49-Tadubi (ST) AC, to attend the meeting without fail.
The by-election is of significant political importance following the demise of N. Kayisii, a veteran leader who represented the constituency under the NPP banner. His passing has left a void in the region’s political landscape, and the upcoming election is expected to witness intense competition among various political parties aiming to fill his seat.
