SENAPATI, April 3: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Senapati, Rang David Kung, has issued an eviction order for the removal of illegal structures and encroachments along National Highway No. 02 (NH-02) from Taphou Liangmai to Khongnem Thana.
The eviction drive, set to commence on April 7, 2025, will be conducted by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office in coordination with the SDC, officials from the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL), and the Senapati district police.
The order follows Notice No. 6/15(1)DC(SP)-2020, dated March 13, 2025, issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Senapati. It mandates the removal of all unauthorized structures and obstructions within the 10-metre Right of Way (ROW) of NH-02. The identified encroachments include:
• Structures such as houses, boundary fences, walls, and roofs that fall within the designated ROW of the NH2.
• Storage of materials such as construction goods, bricks, sand, wood, iron bars, and bamboo, either for commercial or private use, within the ROW.
• Encroachments on drainage systems, including cross drains and side drains along the affected stretch of NH-02.
Property owners and residents along the highway have been directed to remove these encroachments voluntarily to avoid forceful eviction.
