IMPHAL, Nov 2: Seven militants and one juvenile belonging to different banned outfits were arrested from different parts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur and Kakching district, police said on Sunday.
One juvenile and two active cadres of the banned Peoples Liberation Army were arrested from differenr locations of Imphal East and Imphal West district on Friday. They are identified as Wangkhem Reeshav Singh (22), arrested from Minuthong in Imphal West district and Poireisana Yumnam (24), arrested from Top in Imphal East district.
In a separate operation on Saturday, security forces arrested two other cadres of the outfit from their respective residences in Imphal West district. Vishal Achom (24) was arrested from Sagolband Moirang Leirak while Maibam Rocky Singh (38) was arrested from Sagolband Mabudhou Mantri Leikai.
One .32 pistol along with a magazine loaded with a round and one IED along with a detonator were recovered from their possession.
One active cadre of the banned PREPAK was arrested from his residence at Kwakeithel in Imphal West district on Saturday. He has been identified as Pebam Nikesh (28).
Another cadre of the outfit was arrested from Thanga Chingkha Khwairakpam in Bishnupur district on Saturday. He has been identified as Oinam Maipak Meetei (48).
One active cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) was arrested on Friday from Kono Khongnang Khong in Imphal West district. He has been identified as Urikhinbam Malemnganba Meitei (31) and “was involved in extortion from public and government colleges and exaction of mobile phones under duress from mobile phone shops located at Lamshang area in the district.”

Meanwhile, security forces recovered cache of arms and ammunitions during an operation on Saturday between Luwangsangol and Phaileng in Kangpokpi district. Five local made Bolt Action Single Barrel Gun, eleven Cartridges, two wireless sets, and camouflage apparels were recovered during the operation.
