SHILLONG, Nov 11: In a captivating grand finale of India’s Best Dancer Season 4 held on Sunday, 17-year-old Steve Jyrwa from Shillong emerged as the winner, marking a historic moment for Meghalaya. Steve won the coveted trophy and a Rs 15 lakh cash prize, while his choreographer, Raktim Thakuria, was awarded Rs 5 lakh.
Competing against finalists Harsh Keshri, Nextion, Nepo, Akanksha Mishra, and Aditya Malviya, Steve’s incredible journey and dedication earned him the top spot. Reflecting on his victory, he expressed, “Winning India’s Best Dancer is a dream come true. The journey was challenging but ultimately fulfilling, filled with learning and growth.” He expressed deep gratitude to his choreographer and supporters who believed in him.

The show featured Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor in her first season as a judge, alongside choreographers Geeta Kapur and Terence Lewis. Hosts Jay Bhanushali and Aniket Chauhan led the finale, with special guests such as Remo D’Souza, Malaika Arora, Urvashi Rautela, Manisha Rani, and singer Shael Oswal joining the celebration.
Karisma Kapoor commended Steve’s performance, saying, “From his first performance, Steve captivated us with his talent, raw energy, and speed. He set a new standard on this stage with his electrifying performances. His win is well-deserved, and we are immensely proud.”
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma celebrated Jyrwa’s success on social media, stating, “Steve Jyrwa of Shillong danced his way into the hearts of the people of India and is now champion of India’s Best Dancer! Congratulations, Steve. May your talent yield many more achievements!”
