KANGPOKPI, July 8: A three-week-long Skill Development Training Program concluded on Monday at Kanggui Christian College, marking another milestone in Kangpokpi district’s ongoing efforts to empower youth and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Organized by the District Administration in collaboration with the Mustard Seed Foundation (MSF), the program saw enthusiastic participation from around 160 trainees.
The graduation ceremony was graced by Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, who commended the commitment shown by trainees, trainers, and organizers. He hailed the initiative as a model example of Public-Private Partnership (PPP), highlighting its potential in fostering economic self-reliance.

Trainees received hands-on training in key livelihood skills such as Electrical Installation & Maintenance, Baking, Food Processing, and Mushroom Cultivation. The DC noted the practical application of the training, stating that several electrical tasks in the district office were successfully carried out by the program’s participants.
Assuring continued institutional support, Chaudhari urged the MSF to work with the District Industry Office for securing FSSAI certification for food products made by trainees. He also promised to facilitate bank-linked financial assistance for them under government schemes.
Certificates recognized by the Department of Trade, Commerce and Industries were distributed to the graduating trainees. The administration also reaffirmed its commitment to running more such skill programs for IDPs, many of whom are now gainfully employed, reflecting the long-term impact of this developmental effort.
