PAOMATA, Jan 29: On 28th January 2025, 25 individuals from Tunggam Khullen village sought medical attention at the Primary Health Center (PHC) Paomata following suspected food poisoning related to a birthday party held on 27th January. The gathering, which saw an attendance of around 120 people, has led to a wave of health complaints among the guests.
The symptoms reported by the patients include diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever with chills, and body aches. A breakdown of the symptoms shows that 14 individuals experienced both diarrhea and fever with chills, while 6 had only diarrhea. Two individuals presented with diarrhea, fever with chills, and blood in their stool, and 3 others had only fever with chills. The ages of those affected ranged from 11 years to 74 years, indicating a widespread impact across different age groups.

Out of the 25 patients, 12 have been discharged after receiving medical advice, while 13 remain under observation at the PHC for further treatment. The health authorities are investigating the source of the suspected food poisoning and are taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of the villagers.
