HYDERABAD, May 5: Telangana is set to host the prestigious 72nd Miss World Pageant from May 10 to 31, with contestants from across the globe already beginning to arrive in Hyderabad.
The upcoming pageant will witness participation from 120 countries, with more delegates expected to land in Hyderabad in the coming days. The Grand Finale of the event will also be held in Telangana during this period.
The Telangana Government, under its visionary plan, is leveraging the Miss World platform to boost the state’s global brand image and attract foreign investments. In an official statement, the government announced a strategic action plan aimed at presenting Telangana as a “Multidimensional Tourism Hub”. The state aims to highlight its rich historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage to an international audience through this global event.
As part of the pageant itinerary, contestants will visit some of the state’s most iconic tourist destinations. These include Nizam-era heritage sites in Hyderabad and the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Ramappa Temple in Warangal, offering a glimpse into Telangana’s unique blend of tradition and modernity.
Telangana Director General of Police, Jitender, assured that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety of contestants and guests from all 120 participating nations. He emphasized that the event presents an opportunity for the state police to demonstrate their efficiency and professionalism on the global stage.
