CHURACHANDPUR, July 30: In a major crackdown on narcotics, Manipur Police arrested three drug traffickers from L. Kanan village under Behiang Police Station in Churachandpur district on July 26.
The operation led to the seizure of 269 soap cases filled with heroin, weighing approximately 2.95 kilograms.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ginmang Haokip (40) from Hengkot village, Seikholen (45) from Kipgen Veng, and Lalzui Vaiphei (52) from Ngathal village—all residents of Churachandpur. In addition to the heroin, police also confiscated three mobile phones from the accused.
Authorities described the bust as a significant breakthrough in the state’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, which remains a serious concern in the region.
