Tengnoupal, September 18: Security forces in Manipur carried out two successful anti-narcotics operations on Wednesday, seizing a large quantity of contraband drugs and arresting two individuals at the Tengnoupal Police Station naka check post.
In the first operation, a silver Eeco van (Regd. No. AS 04Y 0983) was intercepted and its driver, Hengougin Haokip (23) of Luwangsangol Village, Kangpokpi district, was arrested. From his possession, security personnel recovered 11 soap cases containing brown sugar weighing about 125 grams, along with the vehicle and a mobile handset.
In a separate operation on the same day, forces stopped another silver Eeco van (Regd. No. AS 01BQ 7850) and arrested its driver, Nousad (21) of Sora Mayai Leikai, Irengband, Kakching district. On inspection, officials seized 50 packets of WY tablets weighing approximately 10.8 kgs, besides the vehicle and a mobile phone.
The seized narcotics and the arrested individuals have been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for further legal action.
