SENAPATI, July 8: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, a joint team of Manipur Police and Assam Rifles seized over 21 kilograms of contraband ganja and arrested two alleged drug peddlers at the Mao Gate Police Checkpost along National Highway-2.

A team from Mao Police Station, led by Inspector Worchipem Ngalung, Officer-in-Charge of Mao PS, in coordination with B-Coy 16 Assam Rifles, conducted routine frisking and checking at the checkpost, located about 1 km northwest of Mao PS.
During the inspection, a white Winger passenger vehicle (Regn. No. AS-23-CC-1074) travelling from Imphal towards Nagaland was intercepted. Upon checking the vehicle, the team found a suspicious red luggage bag.
