Two Kuki-Zo Men Held for Brandishing Guns in Manipur

IMPHAL, April 18: Manipur Police on Thursday arrested two Kuki-Zo individuals for publicly brandishing sophisticated firearms in Churachandpur district, according to an official statement issued on Friday.

The statement noted that the two individuals Lamsuanlal Tombing (29) and Chinsonlun (30), both residents of Churachandpur district, were arrested in connection with a viral video in which unidentified miscreants were seen displaying sophisticated firearms at an unidentified location.

The arrested individuals are currently in police custody, and further legal proceedings under the relevant sections of the law are underway, the statement added.

Sources indicated that the arrest came shortly after a bomb explosion occurred at around 1 AM on Thursday at the Jamsuan and Sahei road junction in the New Lamka area of Churachandpur district.
