Senapati, October 26: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), Council Headquarters, has extended its full support to the Youth Rise for Change (YR4C), Senapati, in their ongoing campaign demanding accountability for alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Manipur.
In a strong statement, the TYCM asserted that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution of India. Further, the TYCM announced that it will begin monitoring JJM projects funded under the New Development Bank (NDB) across the hill districts to verify their proper execution and transparency. This initiative aims to ensure that developmental funds are utilized effectively and that the objectives of the mission are fulfilled in true spirit.
Calling for collective vigilance, the TYCM urged tribal youths across Manipur to remain alert and take an active role in ensuring accountability and justice in all developmental programmes. The Council also appealed to all tribal youth clubs to unite and work responsibly for the welfare of their respective communities and the State, emphasizing their duty as the pillars of the nation.
