MEXICO CITY, Nov 17: Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig has made history by winning the coveted Miss Universe 2024 title on Sunday morning, marking Denmark’s first-ever victory at the prestigious international beauty pageant. The 21-year-old Danish entrepreneur, dancer, and beauty queen triumphed at the 73rd edition of the competition, held in Mexico.
Victoria’s stunning performance, combined with her poised and thoughtful answers during the final Q&A, impressed the judges, ultimately securing her the crown. She becomes the first person from Denmark to win the Miss Universe title, a historic achievement that has been celebrated nationwide.
The competition saw strong performances from many contestants, but it was Victoria who stood out in the final moments. Mexico’s Maria Fernanda Beltran, who was a crowd favorite, finished as the first runner-up. Nigeria’s Cnidimma Adetshina claimed the second runner-up position, rounding out the top three.
India’s Rhea Singha, who had gained considerable attention for her elegance and poise in the preliminary rounds, did not make it into the top 12. However, her participation in the 2024 Miss Universe competition was still historic. At just 19 years old, Rhea had previously made history by winning the Miss Universe India 2024 title and had an impressive track record in beauty pageants. She is also a former titleholder of Miss Teen Earth 2023 and Diva’s Miss Teen Gujarat 2020.
Victoria Kjaer Theilvig’s victory has sparked widespread celebrations in Denmark, as the country rejoices in its first-ever Miss Universe crown. Denmark, which has previously seen top-10 finishes at Miss Universe, has now claimed a place in the global spotlight with Victoria’s remarkable achievement.
