IMPHAL, Nov 12: Four militants including a woman belonging to different proscribed outfits were arrested for alleged involvement in extortion, police said on Wednesday.

Two active cadres including a woman of the banned Peoples’ Liberation Army were arrested from their respective residences at Dibong Sanakhong in Jiribam district on Tuesday.

They are identified as Shantosh Boro (30) and Hodam Ongbi Moromi Devi (31) and were involved in extortion from private schools.

One self-styled Lance Corporal of the outfit was also arrested from Thingungei in Bishnupur district on Monday. He has been identified as Thokchom Bijoy Singh (56) and was involved in extortion from government employees in the district district.

Police arrested a self-styled Sergeant Major of the proscribed PREPAK (PRO) from his residence at Sekmaijin Thongam in Imphal West district on Monday. He has been identified as Thongam Anand Singh and was involved in extortion in the district.
