Youth Bivouac 2025 Concludes on a High Note at Khumai (Tunggam) Afii Baptist Church: A Spirit-Filled Gathering of Faith and Fellowship

PAOMATA, April 17:    The spirit was high and hearts were full as the Youth Bivouac 2025 came to a blessed conclusion at Khumai (Tunggam) Afii Baptist Church. Organised by the Afii Baptist Youth Fellowship, the four-day spiritual retreat—from April 14 to 17—proved to be a memorable and uplifting experience for all who attended.

Though the original venue was planned to be the scenic Ashi Vouri (Barak River), unexpected weather led organisers to shift the event to the church premises. But even rain couldn’t dampen the fire of faith, as about 60 youth members, elders, and church members gathered with hearts ready for renewal.

With the powerful theme “Awake, O Sleeper” (Ephesians 5:14), this year’s bivouac aimed to stir hearts and awaken souls. The focus was clear: to deepen one’s walk with Christ, encourage leadership among the youth, and build a vibrant faith-based community.

The retreat was blessed with thought-provoking and spirit-led sessions by distinguished speakers: Rev. Dr. Woba James, professor, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat; Mr. Roziiveinii John H, Youth and Education Secretary, PNBA; and Miss S. Vevune, Women and Sunday School Secretary, PNBA. They shared profound insights on topics such as Christian Youth Identity, the Trinity, Gender Issues, Scripture, Sin, Redemption, Leadership, and the real cost of following Jesus.

But it wasn’t all sermons and silence—the bivouac was lively with questions and answers hour, special songs, quizzes, debates, and group activities that brought everyone closer, not just to each other but to God. The energy of the youth was palpable, and so was their hunger for spiritual truth.

Each evening ended on a reflective note with worship and prayer services that moved many to tears, repentance, and spiritual renewal. The Holy Spirit’s presence was felt deeply, as testimonies were shared and hearts were softened.

This year’s bivouac was made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors and well-wishers. Special mention goes to Anchor Media Marketing (AMM), the official media partner, whose efforts helped shine a wider light on the event.

On the final day, a challenge was placed before every young soul present—to not let this encounter with God end here, but to carry it forward in their daily lives.

The successful completion of Youth Bivouac 2025 is more than an event to remember—it is a reminder of what happens when young hearts, faith, and community come together in pursuit of something greater. As the youth return home, the call still rings in their hearts: “Awake, O Sleeper”—to rise, to lead, and to serve in Christ.
