Senapati, October 11: A significant gathering of 48 youth and like-minded individuals from different tribes in Senapati District converged to mark the beginning of a people’s movement against corruption, with a specific focus on the JJM scam.
The meeting began with a prayer seeking divine blessings for the initiative and featured key speakers, including Mr. R.K. Paul Chawang, a renowned social activist. Mr. Chawang provided an in-depth background on the JJM scam in the district and updated attendees on the status of the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed, urging participants to stand in solidarity with marginalized communities adversely affected by high-level corruption.

Thaisii Vipuni and Thozii Pao highlighted the urgent need for collective action against corruption, while other voices from women, youth, and senior community members expressed a shared determination to sustain the movement despite potential challenges.
Key resolutions adopted during the meeting include:
- Mobilizing more volunteers to join the movement
- Utilizing social media platforms to expose evidence of corruption in the district.
The meeting concluded with a thanksgiving prayer and a renewed commitment to the cause. The date for the next meeting will be announced soon.
