SENAPATI, Nov 24: Youth Rise For Change inspection has raised serious concerns over the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) work in Koide Mathak, exposing a stark gap between official claims and the ground reality.
According to project records, the JJM work is valued at Rs 46.82 lakh, with claims that 494 out of 698 households have been provided tap water connections — a reported 70.77% completion.
However, the inspection found no household with a functional water tap connection. The situation is the same for all 15 Anganwadi centres and the two local schools, which have no water tap connections of any kind.
The village has no water reservoir, though 10 distribution tanks were found in place. Without a reservoir or supply line, these tanks serve no practical purpose.
The Village Authority stated that the JJM project “has not worked properly”, despite funds being withdrawn and reported as utilised. They described the situation as deeply troubling and harmful to the community, which continues to struggle without basic water access.
