Imphal, October 23: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), has expressed deep concern over the continuing poppy cultivation, establishment of unauthorised SoO camps and harrassment of commuters in Zeliangrong and other indigenous areas.
The outfit also advised all “illegal immigrant underground militant groups” operating in Zeliangrong ancestral areas to peacefully withdraw “within one week” failing which it will be prompted to take action.”
In a statement, ZUF warned “illegal immigrant undergound militant groups to immediately cease all unlawful activities, including forceful killing or theft of livestock in the foothills of all Zeliangrong Naga region.”
“These acts, conducted without compensation, are blatant violations of the lands and rights of Zeliangrong people” it said.
The outfit also reminded despite “repeated appeals,” certain groups and individuals persists with these illegal acts and reiterated to cease and vacate all illegally occupied areas.
“ZUF will not remain a silent spectator to construction of illegal villages within Zeliangrong Naga ancestral territory” without the knowledge and consent of the rightful owners, it said adding it does not permit “armed refugees or militants to loiter or operate within the ancestral land of Zeliangrong people.”
The outfit also advised “to withdraw peacefully within one week” failing which it will be prompted to take action.
