A stabbing at a Udaipur school has led to significant communal unrest, with protests, vehicle arson, and market closures. The altercation occurred on Friday morning at Government Higher Secondary School Bhattyani Chauhatta in the Girwa area, involving two Class 10 students from different religious backgrounds.

The attack happened around 10:30 AM when one student, motivated by an ongoing dispute, stabbed his classmate several times in the thigh. Both students are around 15 years old. The attacker has been taken into custody, and his father has been arrested, while the victim is currently in stable condition in the ICU.

Following the incident, protests erupted at the hospital where the injured student was taken, with members of his community rallying and raising slogans. This led to increased police deployment and the closure of several local markets, including those in Bapu Bazar, Hathipole, Ghanta Ghar, and Chetak Circle.

In response to the unrest, Udaipur authorities suspended mobile internet services for 24 hours and imposed a ban on public gatherings to curb the spread of rumors and prevent further violence. The unrest also saw several vehicles being set on fire and instances of stone-pelting.
