Mizoram:   The Mizoram government has raised petrol and diesel prices by Rs 4 per litre each, starting September 1. Taxation Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana announced that the increase includes a new Rs 2 per litre levy for social infrastructure and services, and an additional Rs 2 per litre for road maintenance.

Dr. Vanlalthlana explained that the price hike is intended to support infrastructure and road projects, fostering a sense of shared responsibility among citizens. He added that despite the rise in VAT and new cess, current fuel prices remain below those from 2021.
