Kohima, Sept 24: In a significant operation on September 21, Nagaland Police conducted a state-wide surprise inspection targeting illegal liquor activities. Within just two hours, authorities seized a total of 9,583 bottles of various liquor brands.
According to a press release from Nagaland Police, the operation which involved all District Executive Forces (DEFs) and NAP/IR Battalions, resulted in the arrest of 30 individuals under Section 44(e) of the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act of 1989. Additionally, 28 cases were registered across different police stations in the state.
The Nagaland Police Department reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing the NLTP Act and announced that efforts against illegal liquor will continue. The department also emphasized the need for public cooperation in these efforts and urged citizens to report any related illegal activities to local police stations or the police headquarters.
