The Poumai Naga Baptist Association (PNBA)  organized a groundbreaking fellowship program integrating skill seminars, aimed at empowering widows within the community. Held at the UESI Retreat Centre,Maram from 18th-19th April, the event brought together more than 150 widows from its affiliated churches to participate in a transformative journey of learning, growth, and empowerment.

In her keynote address, K.Poune,the women co-ordinator and convenor of the program  emphasized the importance of collective action and solidarity in creating a more inclusive society where all individuals, regardless of their marital status, have the opportunity to thrive.

“The program exemplifies the power of community-driven initiatives in uplifting marginalized groups and fostering inclusive development. Through collective efforts and unwavering dedication, we will continue to make significant strides towards creating a more equitable and empowered society for all.”She said

The fellowship program witnessed a powerful message of peaceful co-existence by Liba Hopeson, the Youth and Education Secretary, PNBA. He delivered an inspiring message of the need for strengthening spiritual health as one embarked on a journey towards  empowerment and self reliance.

The highlight of the event was the skill seminar designed to foster skill enhancement where the participants immersed themselves in a series of interactive sessions. Led by PNBA Women Secretary and Ng.Ngaorai, Founding Director,Tsiibe Foundation along with Baio, the proprietor of Hills Food and Dr.Makroni Lily, Co-Founder M/S Shiha Pvt.Ltd.the skill seminar covered a wide range of topics tailored to the needs and interests of the widows.Throughout the session, the participants immersed themselves in hands-on learning experiences, gaining valuable insights and honing their skills in areas relevant to their personal and professional aspirations.

In addition to skill development, the fellowship program provided a supportive environment for widows to connect, share experiences, and offer mutual encouragement. Group discussions and peer support sessions facilitated meaningful interactions among participants, fostering a sense of camaraderie and solidarity within the community.

In his closing remarks, Rev.Dr.P.James, Executive Secretary, PNBA reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to serving the needs of widows and promoting their holistic well-being. He expressed optimism for the continued empowerment of widows within the Poumai Naga community and pledged pro-active support from the PNBA.

As the fellowship program concluded, participants expressed profound gratitude for the invaluable experience.Many shared stories of satisfaction, newfound confidence, and empowered aspirations for the future. The event served as a catalyst for positive change, inspiring widows to pursue their dreams and overcome challenges with resilience and determination.
It served as a testament to the resilience and strength of widows and the power of community-driven initiatives in effecting positive change.
