Wokha police have apprehended Likho Kithan of Yikhum village in connection with the theft of tower parts from the 132 kV Wokha – Sanis Transmission Line near Riphyim Old area. The incident led to the collapse of the transmission tower.

The arrest follows a complaint from the Power Department, prompting the police to form a dedicated team for investigation. Despite the challenge, the team meticulously identified and scrutinized suspects and scrap dealers in the vicinity. With technical support from the Cyber Crime Cell, DEF Wokha, the main accused, Likho Kithan, was arrested on April 30.

Likho Kithan, 32, has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC, Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, and Electricity Act. Wokha Police assured the public of their commitment to apprehend all involved individuals to prevent such incidents in the future.
