In a significant operation against armed miscreants in Manipur, the Assam Rifles, acting on specific intelligence, conducted a successful raid on June 1, 2024. The operation took place in H Champai village in the KPI district, where a substantial cache of arms and ammunition was uncovered.
The joint operation, carried out by the Assam Rifles and representatives from the Saikul Police Station, resulted in the recovery of a variety of weapons and explosives. The haul included one 7.62mm AK 56, one 9mm carbine, two country-made 9mm pistols, one India-made 4mm pistol, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and a large quantity of live ammunition and other war-like stores.
All recovered items have been handed over to the Saikul Police for further legal proceedings. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by security forces to maintain peace and security in the region, demonstrating their commitment to combating illegal armed activities.
