Senapati, June 19: In a strong stance against drug trafficking, the Shepoumaramth region of NSCN (IM) destroyed brown sugar worth Rs. 6 lakhs at the KSTC garbage dumping site on Wednesday afternoon. The 50 soap cases containing the drugs were intercepted and seized by members of Shepoumaramth NSCN (IM) following a tip-off about their transport into the region.
The confiscated drugs were incinerated in the presence of CAO Shepoumaramth, his team, security personnel, media representatives, and other observers. The act was a clear message from the region’s administration about their zero-tolerance policy towards drug peddling.
CAO Shepoumaramth emphasized that their actions are aimed at protecting society from the dangers of drug abuse and trafficking, which go against the nation’s principles. He assured that the region would continue to enforce strict measures to prevent the drug trade and safeguard the community.
