Senapati: 21 June 2024

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, recently organized the Tribal Artisans Empanelment Mela (TAeM) at the Karong Village Community Hall. This vibrant event aimed to support and promote tribal artisans.

Kibambe Felix, General Secretary of the Senapati Entrepreneurs Association (SEA), moderated the event. He warmly welcomed the attendees, setting a positive tone for the day. The Regional Manager of TRIFED, Sir Pamthing Keishing, delivered an insightful speech highlighting the importance of empowering tribal communities through such initiatives.

Following him, Shri Shangam, IFS and DFO of Senapati, shared his thoughts on the ecological significance of tribal crafts. Smt Nimmi Adl, Deputy Director Magistrate of Senapati District, also spoke, emphasizing the district’s commitment to supporting tribal artisans.

The event continued with speeches from Nelson, Secretary of Karong Village. The event also was attended by  great personalities like Vasone, Assistant Accountant of MSRLM, Dominic Mao of  IIE Guwahati
Smt Presila, President of the Naga Women Union and more than 80 participants from different business sectors.

The mela was a successful convergence of ideas and initiatives, fostering a supportive environment for tribal artisans in the region.
