Times of Senapati – Community News
Senapati Town witnessed a heartwarming and inspiring event on June 24, 2024, as 30 churches came together to launch the “CLEAN SENAPATI” campaign. Organized by the Senapati District Baptist Association of Finance (SDBAF) and the Senapati – Karong Baptist Association Union (SKABU), in collaboration with the Senapati Town Committee, this initiative aims to promote cleanliness and environmental stewardship.
On the first day of the campaign, volunteers from various churches rolled up their sleeves and took to the streets, picking up litter and beautifying public spaces. This noble effort is set to continue showcasing the community’s commitment to maintaining a cleaner and healthier environment.
The campaign has received widespread appreciation from residents and local organizations. Many have praised the participating churches and individuals for their dedication to making Senapati Town a better place to live. However, this initiative has also sparked important conversations about sustainable waste management practices.
“While we are grateful for these clean-up drives, it raises the question of how long we need to rely on such efforts. It’s crucial for everyone to contribute to maintaining a clean environment by not littering,” commented a concerned citizen. The community is also urging local authorities to implement effective waste management systems to ensure long-term cleanliness and hygiene.
As the “CLEAN SENAPATI” campaign continues, the hope is that it will inspire a collective sense of responsibility and pride in maintaining the town’s beauty. The community’s message is clear: keeping Senapati clean is a shared duty that requires ongoing commitment from every resident. (TOS Staff Report)
